TRANSFER IN COMPLETION PROGRAM

Ideal for Pastors, Church Staff, Industrial Chaplains and Leaders in Faith-Based Organizations Who Have an Uncompleted M.Div., Bible Related Graduate Degree
or Substantial Transferable Bible-Related Graduate Credits

The Master of Divinity degree completion program is ideal for those with an uncompleted M.Div. degree. Individuals who may have dropped out of their M.Div. program, can now reach their goal. 

 

It is also ideal for those who have earned a relevant graduate degree (e.g. M.Min., M.R.E., M.A.R., M.A. in Biblical Studies, etc.) of not less than 30 credits, and who wish to up-grade to the Master of Divinity degree.

The  Master of Divinity Completion (Transfer in) Program Requires Between 26 to 64 Credits of the 94 Credits Required for the Standard Program Based on Total Allowable Transfer Credits.

 

  • Entrance requires not less than 30 previously earned acceptable credits. 
  • Total credits required are not less than 26 and not more than 64. 

 

Courses replaced by transfer will be determined prior to admission, and based on acceptable relevant course/credit transfer. Courses will be determined from the following Concentration categories, and selected from among regular courses in the standard M.Div. program.


The M.Div. Completion Program:

 

  • Is self-paced;
  • Not structured in semesters, quarters or terms;
  • Can be completed 100% off-campus;
  • Uses email and easy file transfers to send coursework;
  • Also integrates voluntary small group learning options;
  • Is designed to allow the student to begin at any time of the year.

 

Designed for the more mature individual already serving in Christian ministry who is strongly interested in a deep and comprehensive program in Bible, Church History, New Testament Language, and Theology.

Orientation OR-MA

The purpose of this course is to help ensure that the student will begin his or her study program at Master’s with the basic information needed to move successfully toward graduation. For this reason, this course is mandatory of all new students.


Greek Word Studies for the Pastor / GWS-1500

The purpose of this courses is to provide the Doctoral student an experiential technique for New Testament study based upon the original words of the scriptural text within the cultural setting of the various authors with realization that these words were chosen by the Holy Spirit to communicate the truth of God to the mind of man; thus each word has the stamp of God's authority and must be interpreted correctly. 


Hebrew Word Studies for the Pastor / HWS-1500

The purpose of this courses is to the Doctoral student an experiential technique for Old Testament study based upon the original words of the scriptural text within the cultural setting of the various authors with realization that these words were chosen by the Holy Spirit to communicate the truth of God to the mind of man; thus each word has the stamp of God's authority and must be interpreted correctly.


Graduate Research and Writing GRW-500

The purpose of this course is to provide the graduate student with an opportunity to examine the fundamentals of research and writing from a practical and professional perspective, as a foundation step in preparation for completing the graduate writing project.


Graduate Writing Project GWP-500

This is the final writing project for the master’s student. While similar in many ways to a thesis, it is fundamentally different in that it is designed to be a “ministry” position paper written from a praxis position. Students are prepared for this course by taking the Research and Writing course.

Faith and Understanding: An Introduction to Language and Theology ILT-1510

The purpose is to introduce the student to theological thinking with special reference to global theological thought. Further, the purpose will be to examine influences on what we consider ‘our’ theology in relation to historical theological thinking, and to our current globalized Christianity. 


Transformational Youth Ministry TYM-501

The purpose of this course is to introduce and expose the student to the study of Youth ministry as a calling and a life of service so that he/she acquires a deeper knowledge of youth ministry, and is able to identify and describe the essential principles for transforming youth to be the leaders now and tomorrow. 


New Testament Theology NTH-1510

The purpose of this course is to expose the student to the study of New Testament theology; to enable the student to master issues related to New Testament theology, and to deepen the student understands of the distinctive theological character of individual New Testament writings and of the New Testament as a whole; to apply that knowledge in the student's ministry.

Biblical Truth and Worldview Conflicts BTWC-1510

Course Purpose: This multidisciplinary apologetics course considers how our big-picture "worldview" concepts of ultimate realities, including God, the world, life, death, our own origins and destinies, and concepts of meaning and value (truth vs. falsity, right vs. wrong, good vs. bad, valuable vs. worthless) are tied to our beliefs about which information is foundationally true and reliable. Various worldview elements are examined, theistic vs. atheistic, creationist vs. evolutionary, Biblical vs. humanist, and eternal perspectives vs. temporal perspectives. Critical issues regarding cosmic and human origins are specially analyzed, based upon Scripture-provided truth (especially Genesis), including the age of the earth, the original and renewed Dominion Mandate, and the laws of life and death. The crucial and unique authority of the Holy Bible is emphasized.


Old Testament Theology OTH-1510

The purpose of this course is to expose the doctoral student to the study of Old Testament theology; to enable the student to master issues related to Old Testament theology, and to deepen the student’s understanding of the distinctive theological character of individual Old Testament writings and of the Old Testament as a whole; to apply that knowledge in the student's ministry.
