    General Entrance Requirements


    • The applicant can combine an associate degree, college credits, technical training, military training, and life-learning documentation to validate 85 previously earned credits,
    • Applicants who may be short of the required general education or minimum entrance credits can enroll in additional courses in order to meet the degree requirements,
    • The total minimum credits required for completion is 35.  The total of all combined credits for this degree is 120.

Core Course Descriptions


Orientation OR-BA

The purpose of this course is to help ensure that the student will begin his or her study program at Master’s with the basic information needed to move successfully toward graduation. For this reason, this course is mandatory of all new students.


CL-401 Christian Leadership: Theory and Practice
Course Purpose: This course will provide learners with an introduction to  the theory and practice of Christian leadership through an analysis of significant Christian scholars for insights into the nature and character of leadership in a biblical perspective. One of the major tasks of the course will be to give students insights into the practice of Christian leadership, by considering the Christian leader as a servant in leadership style, following the example of Jesus. 


FP-401 Biblical Role and Function of the Pastor
Course Purpose: To introduce the biblical role and function of the pastor in the local church so that he/she can stand on a biblically based foundation in the performance of that role and function. This course is designed to focus the student on the pastoral role in light of scriptural teaching so as to overcome the many erroneous and damaging philosophies of pastoring. This course also discusses pastoral development, families, and potential traps and pitfalls.


CH-401 Christian History of the United States
Course Purpose: To give a properly balanced and unapologetically Christian perspective on the history of the United States, and in so doing establish the true influence of the Christian Faith upon the formation and development of the nation as a whole. To provide irrefutable documentation of the foundational influence of the Christian Faith upon the formation and subsequent development of the United States. 


PS-401 Developing Pastoral Skills
Course Purpose: The content of this online course will focus on introducing the student to the basic elements of pastoral responsibility and to providing the foundation for more advanced study in theory and technique of church ministry. Consistent with this goal, this course seeks to prepare students for high quality work in diverse ministry settings and with diverse populations. Throughout the course consideration will be given to both theological and practical points of view, and students will be encouraged to begin to develop a personally relevant model of integrated pastoral leadership.


CI-401 Introduction to Critical Inquiry

Course Purpose: This is an introductory course that deals with the general issues regarding critical inquiry (thinking), with an emphasis on the theory and practice of critical thinking within the context of a Christian world-view. Students will be informed on the fundamental issues related to the practice of critical inquiry, and exposed to the reasons why such inquiry is essential to the discovery of truth.

The purpose of this course is to encourage the student to identify, describe, and interpret the issues and problems that arise in managerial situations.


Ethics for Christian Leaders - An Introduction  ECLI-1510

The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to theories that can be used to approach issues that challenge a Christian leader’s moral mission and witness.


Personhood from a Biblical Perspective  PH-1502

The purpose of this course is to direct the student to a Biblical foundation for understanding God’s idea for personal self-awareness. To lead the student through a Biblical assessment of the so-called “self-esteem” movement. To compare and analyze the prevailing secular attitude regarding self-esteem over against the Scriptural teachings related to these attitudes. To prepare the student to deal with the issue of self-esteem within a Biblical counseling regime.


Role and Function of a Healthy Healing Church  HC-401

The purpose of this course is to explore the biblical and experiential components that go into developing and leading a local church that is healthy and offers hope and healing to the lost and hurting.
